Artificial intelligence is causing data centers to grow like mushrooms around the world. Only Austria is a moderately good breeding ground. At the next exciting “Super Tuesday” panel discussion, prominent representatives from the real estate industry and IT world will discuss the reasons for and effects of this development:

"Data centers - A global megatrend touches Austria"

Tuesday, April 22, 2025, 6:30 pm (admission from 6:00 pm),

in the club rooms of the ÖAG,

1010 Wien, Stallburggasse 2, Mezzanin

While the USA announces that it will invest more than half a trillion dollars in the expansion of AI and data centers, Chinese start-ups with low-cost and high-performance AI models are providing strong competition. Although the EU is following suit with its competitiveness compass, it is constantly lagging behind in global competition and is in danger of being left behind. Establishing the digital infrastructure is the basis for being able to compete in this race at all. Austria does not even seem to be warming up properly. Is Austria missing out on a megatrend? What consequences does this development have for Austria's economy?

Our high-caliber panel discusses these questions:

Markus Colle, CEO, Styr-Group

Klemens Eiter, CEO, Porr AG

Florian Slezak, Cloud Region Lead Western Europe, Microsoft Österreich GmbH

Ina Werner, Team Leader Smart Infrastructure, Siemens AG Austria

Alexander Windbichler, CEO, Anexia GmbH, Member of the Board, CISPE

Monika Rosen, Vice-President ÖAG, will host the evening.

We are looking forward to an exciting evening together.

The event will start on time and will be streamed live on Zoom (see below) and our YouTube channel. You can see a summary after the event at www.trend.at.

Super Tuesday on 04.03.2025

Together with our media partner Salzburger Nachrichten, we would like to invite you to the presentation of the important American Film Award as part of our 'Super Tuesday series:

"60 Years of The Sound of Music - The Legacy of a Film Classic"

Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 18:30 (admission from 18:00),

in the clubroom of the ÖAG, 1010 Vienna, Stallburggasse 2, Mezzanine

Even 60 years after the premiere, the effects of the award-winning musical film "The Sound of Music" on the external perception of Austria and thus also on tourism - especially in Salzburg - are still noticeable. The country and the city have long since evolved - but even today, films (and series) still shape the perspective on other countries and arouse interest in other cultures and possible travel destinations.

Our top-class panel will discuss this:

Karoline Edtstadler, appointed Governor of Salzburg (requested)

Wolf Osthaus, Senior Director Public Policy, Netflix

Johanna II von Trapp, daughter of Johanna von Trapp (Marta in the film)

Shela Gobertina von Trapp, Founder 'Georg&Agathe Foundation', granddaughter of Johanna von Trapp

Rene Tritscher, Managing Director Austrian Business Agency (ABA)

The evening will be led by Hannes Schalle, director, producer and elected member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

We are looking forward to an exciting evening together.

The event will start on time and will be www.sn.at/medien , as well as live streamed on the ÖAG channels Zoom (dial-in info see below) and our YouTube channel.

“Three years of war in Ukraine”

On the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, our high-profile panel discussed the implications, current political contexts and possible future scenarios. Under the sovereign leadership of Krone journalist Petja Mladenova, Otmar Karas argued, among other things, that Europe had to do its homework in terms of security policy and cohesion in order to meet the great powers, such as Russia and the United States, on an equal footing with one shoulder.

The lively audience participation on site and via Zoom testified to the topicality of the topic and the many questions that arise in this context. After the end of the panel discussion, some of these questions were deepened and discussed directly in conversation with Brigadier Sandtner, Ewa Nowotny and Oksana Stavrou.

This event was recorded and can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
